I made it!

Well I made it! I left at 4:30 in the morning from my house in Portland, and finally landed in Washington D.C. at 6:00 pm eastern time. It was an extremely long day of travel, but everything went pretty smooth, except for a delay, but other than that it was great. We flew right over the Pentagon and Arlington Cemetery when we came in! I got off the plane and it was hot and humid. Yay for summer weather! I got totally lost, but this family (greatest people in the world) helped me find my way. They even carried my bags and helped me buy my first metro ticket! I finally made it to Crystal City, but got lost! Luckily my roommate was able to give me direction and come find me. I then walked into the biggest apartment I've ever lived in. It is so nice! The whole place is nice, we have a pool, a nice computer lounge where I am now, a work out gym and its close to the metro! I will post some pics when I have the chance. We don't have any internet service in my apartment.
So once I made it to the apartment another one of my roommates, Sarah, and her mom were there, getting ready to head over to the temple to walk around. They invited us and so I went with them. The roads here are so confusing, so it took us a long time to get there, but we finally made it! We got a great tour of the city though, go to drive past monuments and see how pretty it is here. The temple is gorgeous! I can't wait to go back and visit it some more!
I then came back, unpacked and went straight to bed. This morning I was awoken by 100 (not kidding) motorcyclists taking turns pulling into the Marriott across the street from us. Right outside my window. I am definitely not in a quiet neighborhood anymore. This is a big city. I live on the 8th floor so I have a great view though!
Anyways, today the plan is to go shopping for food, and also figure out the metro, and see some stuff, probably go check out the Smithsonian!
